Y'all were supposed to hold me back!

Remember my little post yesterday? Where y'all were supposed to hold me back from buying the sugar and chocolate chips and flour? Well...I just couldn't refrain. I bought the chocolate chips. and the sugar. and the flour. And the eggs and butter too. AND WENT BAKING CRAZY.

I made these Banana Bars with Brown butter frosting, and let me tell you...THESE ARE THE BEST THING I THINK I HAVE EVER BAKED. And that's a lot to say. Because I've baked a lot! Y'all, hold me back again....from eating the whole pan. Really.

and I didn't stop right there. Nope! Because Chocolate Cake Balls were on my mind this afternoon as well.

I think the rest of the day is going to consist of (eating) more cake balls and banana bars, a marathon of Gilmore Girls, and some relaxing time in the sunshine. Loving these lazy summer days!

If we were having coffee right now...

...I'd probably tell you that I'm actually having hot cocoa instead and that I used to drink coffee all the time, but now it makes my stomach hurt and that makes me very, very sad. But hey! Cocoa isn't something to complain about. Am I right?!

I'd tell you that I just roadtripped with my roommates to see our other roomie, Kelsie, in Emerald Isle, NC. And it was grand. The beach, the hospitality, the laughs. I loved every single minute. TAKE ME BACK!

I'd tell you I'm still obsessing over my new Erin Condren planner and that I write every.single.thing. in it. And I'd probably ask you when you're free for another coffee date so I can write another date in my planner.

I'd ask you if you've read any good books this summer and say that I'm absolutely LOVING Something Borrowed. I've been laying out at the pool each day and reading a few chapters here and there. And now I want to watch the movie all over again even though I just saw it a couple weeks ago.

I'd tell you that I WANT TO MAKE EVERY. SINGLE. RECIPE. IN MY SALLY'S BAKING ADDICTION COOKBOOK RIGHT NOW. I'm really fighting the urge to not have a 24-hour baking spree. Hold me back, y'all. My wallet can't spend excessively on chocolate chips, flour, and sugar right now.

and I'd tell you I've been running on the tredmill and that my left pinky toe and my right pinky finger become ridiculously numb while running. Is this okay? I'ma that.

Finally, I'd tell you that I have been named godmother of this little nugget...Henry.

My bestfriend Carly just got him and he is the sweetest goldendoodle puppy. I'm in love. And so excited that I can come over and steal him anytime. (Right, Carls?)

Happy Friday! I enjoyed this little coffee...umm...cocoa date :)

Erin Condren Planner!!!

This week has been a very, very happy week because I received my Erin Condren planner in the mail!!! I absolutely love organizing and having a planner with me at all times. I almost tripped as I ran to open the package at my front door. It is that great y'all.

There are so many different options for planners and the new July 2014-December 2015 planner will be available for pre-order in June!

The pages are so, so adorable. I love how organized I can keep everything! I have already transferred all of my addresses, contacts, birthdays and more into the planner. I love it.

The markers do not bleed through the pages, which makes notes and to-do's easy to jot down.

...and it comes with lots and lots of fun stickers for important dates. I've already taken advantage of the "VACATION" stickers and placed them on all the beach days ahead! (CAN I GET AN AMEN FOR SUMMER?)

The "Keep it Together" folder is where I'm going to store all of my notes, receipts, and coupons.

I love it so much! Can't wait to stay organized these next few months.

Question of the day:
How do you stay organized?

When in Greenville... sure to "ooooohhh" and "awwwwww" and "OH.MY.LOOKATTHATONE!" when spotting fuzzy baby ducklings swimming down the Reedy River.

...and bring your baby cousin so the onlookers don't think you're totally crazy when pointing out the ducks. Because baby Rylan gives you an excuse to "OHHHH" and "AWWWWW" and act like you've never seen wildlife before.

...and steal lots of kisses from his chubby cheeks while you swing by the river.

When in Greenville, you MUST stop at Tupelo Honey Cafe.

...and try to keep calm and collected when they bring out double butter biscuits, jam, and of course...Tupelo honey.

...and order the barbecue pork, okra, and greens. Just do it. You'll thank me later.

A beautiful spring salad too!

When in Greenville... share with Rylan. Because he likes Tupelo Honey too...

and try your hardest not to pout when it's time to go because you've had such a super great day downtown!

Light and Simple Summer Dessert

Angel Food Cake is one of my faaavorite summer treats. It's light and sweet and perfect at cookouts, for afternoon snacking, and even at breakfast time alongside a cup of coffee. Usually I'm not a huge fan of boxed cake mixes, but Angel Food cake is my only exception.

For this recipe, you need three ingredients:

Angel Food Cake Mix
Can of Pineapple Juice
1 cherry vanilla Big Slice pouch (From Target!) or your favorite sliced fruit

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and set out a 9x13 pan. (Do not spray with oil)
2. Mix Angel Food mix, 1/2 cup of pineapple juice, and 1 Big Slice pouch.

(if using sliced fruit, use 3/4 cup of pineapple juice and 1/2 cup sliced fruit)

3. Bake in 9x13 pan for about 30 minutes. Let cool 20 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

My Summer at the Beach Reading List

It's SUMMER! (even though it was 45 degrees when I stepped outside first thing this morning) I'm loving the sunshine and the quick summer rains. And whether I'm in the sunshine or snuggled in the bed on a rainy day, I have a book in my hand.

Which brings me summer reading list! I have a few planned beach trips this summer and can't wait to read all of these.

Love Emily Giffin. I actually started listening to her books on CD that I checked out at the library for long car rides. Her new book, The One and Only, comes out in a couple of days. Can't wait to get my hands on this one!

I have heard so, so much about this book. I've heard a lot about its inspiring stories and taking advantage of your God-given potential. This one is a must-read.

Yeah, yeah I know. I'm a little behind on this one since I haven't read it yet. But I'm getting to it! It has rave reviews on Amazon. Couldn't not add this one to the list as well.

I think I need all of her books. She's made it onto the summer reading list twice! I actually watched this movie a few weeks ago, so now I have to read the book. Usually it's the other way around, but I didn't even know the movie corresponded with this read.

I read the back of this book and thought it sounded hilarious. And it was on a top "chick-lit for the beach" list of summer books. I can't ever pass on a chick-flick, so I'm not going to pass on this "chick-read" either.

What books are on your must-read list this summer?

Birthday Brunchin' with the Birthday Girl!

Today was an absolutely beautiful day! And it was so great to celebrate a 20th birthday for one of my closest friends Carly. Happy, happy birthday sweet girl!

We started off with brunch at Big City Bread in Athens. I ordered the French Ham and Cheese and tomato soup. Just look at this.... yeeeeppp. It was great.

And then afterwards, we had a little photo shoot in the sunshine:

Love these girls and I feel SO SO blessed to know each and every one of them! I hope your day was full of fun Carly!

College Moving Tips and a little help from Tiny Prints!

BIG news! I'm moving! I absolutely love, love change. And I feel one of the main reasons I have loved college so much is because each and everyday is different. I kicked off freshman year living in Creswell dorm at the University of Georgia. Although I really don't have to relive dorm life again (umm, no thank you to sharing a bathroom with 70+ girls) it was a great first-year experience.

My roommate and I freshman year in our dorm.

My freshman dorm room.

This past year, I moved into my first apartment. I was most excited about having a kitchen and the ability to bake whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. Such freedom!!! And having my own bathroom was a plus as well. A big plus.

And now, I am MOVING to Jelarsymarny!! Or shall I say, HAjelarsymarny. Jelarsymarny is the
name of 6 of my best friends all smashed together. Jenny, Carly, Sydney, Mary Cate, Kelsie, and Joni. And they have added the "Ha" at the beginning of the name since I am moving in! HAjelarsymarny. (Pronounced HEY-Jell-Ars-Eee-Marny. it takes a little practice to say.) There will be 7 of us girls living together. To say I am excited would be an understatement. These girls are so encouraging, fun, and can brighten your day in a heartbeat! It is such a blessing to be able to wake up each day in such a cozy, loving home.

formerly Jelarsymarny, now HaJelarsymarny Living Room.
I can not wait to officially move in! I've moved a couple of times since college began, and I have a few tips to keep the big move-in day fun and easy.

1. Organize, organize, organize! I have already started going through papers I don't need, clothes I don't wear, and getting rid of the clutter. Donating clothes and extra kitchen goodies that I thought I needed at the time but ended up not wearing or using feels so good. Plus your unwanted items can help someone in need. This makes move-in day a breeze.

2. Make delicious snacks the day before for move-in fun and fuel. Have you tried my Salted Chocolate Saltine Toffee Bark? This is one heck of a delicious treat. Plus it has sprinkles. And anyday with sprinkles is a happy day. It's easy, chocolatey, and portable. It makes for the perfect move-in snack.

3. And finally, WRITE THANK YOU NOTES! I am so thankful for the friends and family who have helped me move over the past couple of years. My Aunt Susu and Uncle Rog are always there for me on move-in days, and the girls at Jelarsymarny have already volunteered to help me move into their cozy house this year. I love showing others how much they have helped me with a sweet card. I could not say no to showcasing these  ADORABLE thank you notes and matching address labels I got courtesy of Tiny Prints. As you know, I'm a HUGE HUGE fan of snail mail and adorable stationary.

And Tiny Prints is now my go-to for all of my stationary needs. They have a wide array of personalized cards, stationary, invitations, announcements, and gifts. I had such a hard time picking out my favorites. They even have graduation cards and invites since it is getting close to graduation time!

Of course, I HAD to get new address labels for my new address. Can't wait to send these out and show off these labels!

Question of the day: What are some of your favorite moving tips? What were your college moving experiences like?
